Sean Boggs

  • Sean Boggs is an aspiring Psychopharmacologist who loves Avant Garde art and film. They don't quite know what they want to do while working towards their degree. They are currently building an ANTI-MLM job board website. When not doing homework or one of their three jobs they enjoy hanging out with their lovely girlfriend Izzy. They enjoy being a part of the visual media and layout teams within the Parlay.

Eren Bussard

  • Eren Bussard (they/them) is a student at Arizona State University. They are in the process of completing their coursework to earn a bachelor’s degree in English. Eren has a deep passion for writing and is currently working on their first novel. In their downtime, they are usually found watching anime, socializing with friends, or working on new stories. Eren’s delighted to be the embedded tutor of the sixth edition The Parlay and cannot wait for future editions.

Angelique Cranfill

  • Angel Cranfill is a Sacramento-Based artist who specializes in ink and pen to explore themes of sexuality, mental health, and intense emotions. When not working on art, Angel is raising a young daughter to see the world with joy and whimsy while studying English or Linguistics to become a professor. Simone O. Elias

  • Simone O. Elias is a writer and cultural critic. Her first book, Old Films, Young Eyes: A Teenage Take on Hollywood's Golden Age, was all about the relevance of classic Hollywood in the modern era and how these unknown gems predicted attitudes towards modern struggles such as abortion, divorce, racism, sexual relations, and women's rights. The book was covered in the San Francisco Chronicle, the Forward, FOX News, and more. A lot of her work focuses on bridging history and vintage aesthetics to modern sociological issues, making the past alive again. Elias loves exploring multifaceted female characters in writing (and analyzing them, like on her series Girlhood on Film). She’s currently working on television projects and a second book.

Mackenzie Johnson

  • Mackenzie Johnson is an English major attending Folsom Lake College and American River College who worked as the social media content creator and the Creative Prose and Poetry editor in The Parlay. She managed Robert Redbone’s book marketing as his social media intern for his debut novella “Paper Gun.” She enjoys shelving the books at her local library as a volunteer, reading novelettes, novellas and novels, listening to music, actively listening to others, watching animated movies and anime series. Addison Kipp

  • Addison Kipp is a multimedia artist who loves to dabble in a bit of everything. She is also a voracious reader in her spare time. When not doing either of those things, she’s either watching a rom com or studying to get into nursing school.

Natalie Lynn

  • This is Natalie Lynn’s second semester at FLC and first time on The Parlay. Her creative medium is scary stories, both in poetry and prose. She looks forward to publishing all of her ideas in the future. Natalie is going to college for neurological science, to become a pediatric neurologist. When she is not working on her art or school, she enjoys gaming, dancing, martial arts, and spending time with her girlfriend Gab. 


Laura Willis

  • Laura Willis has been doing art forms and looked for a world that was kind and beautiful. Through their writing, painting and other art forms they hope to let you see that there is hope for a loving, compassionate, and caring world. Laura has found safety at FLC and a strong art community with amazing students and professors. They are grateful for having the opportunity to experience life through a new lens.

Artemis Bottarini

  • Artemis Bottarini (she/her) is a novelist attending FLC for personal enrichment. She is currently querying for her first novel, City of Dragon's Teeth, and loves writing whatever comes into her head at the moment. Amsley Cailao

  • Amsley Cailao is a first year student at Folsom Lake College. She is currently working towards a university transfer for a future career in medicine. She loves the intersection of science and creativity, and makes it her mission to attempt to walk that line in her writing. Aside from writing, she enjoys exercise, who-dunnit mysteries, and cafe hopping. 

Izzy Cross

  • Izzy Cross likes to bring her original characters from her inner-world out for yard time through creating mixed-media drawings. She especially likes sharing them with her friends and boyfriend! Likewise, she goes wild for journaling, reading, recreational shooting, old computer games, fascinating movies and TV shows. Sam Hoff

  • Sam Hoff (He/Him) is a part of the Poetry and Creative Prose teams. He attends Folsom Lake College, majoring in chemistry, and plans to transfer to a four-year university. At several local venues, Sam works as an audio technician, helping many creative forces bring their work to life. These include multiple Broadway shows at the Harris Center right here at Folsom Lake College. Sam is always keeping himself occupied, working on his personal projects, modifying electronic circuits, and building things. In his free time, you can find him playing alt-rock guitar at local music venues or going on long walks out in the Sierra Nevada mountains, appreciating nature. 

Daniel James

  • Daniel James (they/them) is currently at FLC as a returning student, having earned their BA in Creative Writing and MFA in Book Art from Mills College. They are a novelist by trade, with two titles published through Tapas Entertainment: Respectfully Yours, and How (Not) to Save the Multiverse. In their spare time, they enjoy rebinding books, printmaking, and letting their cat, Chidi, boss them around.  

David Emanuel Livingston

  • David Emanuel Livingston is happy to be working on his second edition of the Parlay magazine in visual arts. He is actively pursuing a degree in art history. When he is not visiting local museums and art galleries, he enjoys his time playing chess, tennis, Skip-Bo, pickleball, cooking and dancing. 

Ryan Murphy

  • Ryan Murphy (he/him) is a second timer on the Parlay working on the poetry team and helping out wherever else he’s needed. While aiming to major in film editing and minor in music Ryan does a myriad of art ranging from music where he plays under the name Ryan Black  playing folk music inspired by musicians like Pete Seger and Johnny Cash. Beyond music he works as a video writer and editor on youtube, freelance editor, college student, runs a Mutual Aid Club on campus and works part time. While finding a piece of free time he enjoys reading dense economic and political theory, playing strategy games and researching specific pieces of history.
